The Best Way to Eat Broccoli: The Ultimate Ranking
Before I start, let me tell you that I am not a certified foodie or food blogger. I am not majoring in broccoli studies or anything, either. Neither am I working as a food critic (although, IMO, I do kinda look like one, following quarantine). Regard this as a random list created by a life-long broccoli lover, that is all.

I also feel the urge to add that I love broccoli in any way, shape or form. Personally, I don’t care if it’s cooked, grilled, steamed or whatever. I love that green vegetable in all sizes. Big, fat, juicy, chubby, curvy, small, thin, skinny. I don’t care with which food it is paired up with. I am, and always will be, eternally loyal to broccoli. This relationship is probably up there in the top 3 of my relationships where I have a strict unconditional love policy. Either way, a ranking, from worst1 to best, is still necessary. Ready or not, here it comes.
#6 with noodles
There is usually so much going on there, flavor-wise, at least in my broccoli noodle dishes. Sauces, other veggies, herbs. I always feel like I am not doing my broccoli justice by letting it mingle with pasta. But I still love it and will forever cherish eating it this way.
#5 as a soup
I am always so sad to see the texture and crunch all gone and destroyed, by mushing it all up into a soup. But I still love it and its pretty green color. It kind of reminds me of a healthy, green breakfast smoothie bowl, YUUUUUM.
#4 inside an omelette
Broccoli omelette is IT. Mine is usually paired with cheese because you can never go wrong with that combination. The only reason this is not higher up in my ranking is because sometimes I get real wild with my omelettes. I overeat to the point I feel sick to my stomach because I can’t get enough of my cheesy broccoli breakfast in the mornings.
#3 with rice
Listen, rice and broccoli is perfect with some white meat mixed in there. It sounds plain, but it isn’t. Well no, yes, it is plain actually. But that’s how I love it. I like how the focus is more on the broccoli this way.
#2 with fish
Broccoli tastes fabulous with fish because fish tastes rather plain, so my broccoli is in the spotlight. Just like I want it.
#1 plain
The best way to eat broccoli is plain. When you just have a piece, or two, or seventeen, and it’s just ready to be bitten into. But make sure it’s al dente, pls? You know, with that crunch when you bite into it. You don’t want it all mushy and practically melted as soon as it hits your taste buds.
Hope you agree with my ranking. If not, it’s cool. Hope you have your own ranking at least. If you have never thought about a ranking yourself, I pray that you like broccoli. Or well, at least tolerate it. I’d love for you to love it as much as I do, but if you don’t like it at all, that’s also cool! This just means there is more of it for me.
1 technically, there is no worst with broccoli. I just had to start somewhere.
